A workshop that machines and assembles
Machining and fixture building under one roof: that is what shortens the cycle when a dimension changes during commissioning.
Lavorazioni Meccaniche is a machine shop founded in 2019 in Nichelino, just outside Turin, specialising in CNC turning and milling for the automotive sector. The workshop runs two Doosan CNC machining centres, handling parts up to 1600 mm. We work to customer drawings: the design comes from you, the machining process is ours.
Alongside subcontract machining we build complete clamping and welding assemblies for production lines: base frame, plates, engineering-plastic locators, pneumatic units and final assembly.
The advantage is not theoretical. When a fixture needs a change during commissioning, the part to rework sits a few metres from the machine that made it: it closes the same day, not at an outside supplier’s next delivery.
How we work
From drawing to inspection

The drawing arrives
You send the 2D drawing or 3D file with quantity and material. We read the critical dimensions and, if something cannot be made as drawn, we tell you before quoting.

Process and programming
We define the sequence of operations, the datums and the re-clamping steps, then program the toolpath in CAD/CAM from your model.

Machining
Turning, milling and re-clamping on the machining centres. For fixtures, assembly follows: base frame, locators and pneumatic units.

Inspection and delivery
Functional dimensions are checked before the part leaves. If one is out, we find it here: it costs a rework instead of a stopped line.

FAQ
What people ask us most
Do you also design the part?
No. We work to customer drawings: the design comes from you, while we take care of the machining sequence, the CAD/CAM programming, the machining itself and the inspection.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. We take on one-off parts, prototypes and small batches. The quote accounts for setup time, which weighs more on a single part than on twenty.
Which files do you accept for a quote?
Dimensioned PDFs, DWG and DXF for 2D, STEP and IGES for 3D. A ZIP archive is fine too. We also need the quantity and the material.
Do you build the complete fixture or just the parts?
Both. We can machine individual parts on a subcontract basis, or deliver the fixture assembled and checked, with base frame, locators and pneumatic units already connected.
What is the largest part you can machine?
We machine parts up to 1600 mm overall. For parts close to that size, send the drawing straight away so we can check travel and fixturing before quoting.
Which sectors do you work for?
Automotive is our main sector. We also take on work for aerospace and the food industry from time to time.
Do you work for private individuals?
No, we only work with companies.
Where are you and when are you open?
The workshop is in Nichelino, Via Vernea 137/8, just outside Turin. We are open Monday to Friday, 7:30–12:00 and 12:30–17:00.
